What is this? How did I shoot this? Ah, this is state of mind. The camera is simply a rectangular box, but the mind operating it is the key. What state of consciousness are you in? That is the difference. I practice meditation and read holy texts daily. Because of this my state of mind, or consciousness, is "out there", not in the normal vibration of the collective, I am seeing more than what is there. In this scene waves have met their destination, and are slowly returning back to the deep vast water from which they came, much like when we die we will return to the source of it all. This photo was taken at night in Chicago, where the boardwalk lights greet the shore displaying a beautiful contrast. By exposing for the highlights, the rest of the photo goes black creating the illusion of black space, and the highlights become stars. By understanding how to expose the photo in camera, I am able to see beyond the surface of what is there.
